The All-New Porsche Mission X Is an Insanely Fast Electric Hypercar Concept

Almost ten years after the release of the iconic Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid, the company has unveiled a potential successor that completely ditches combustion power. Say hello to Mission X!
The Mission X is a vehicle designed with one goal in mind: to become the fastest street-legal production car to ever conquer the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This means surpassing the impressive 6:35.183 time set by the Mercedes-AMG One just last year.
Porsche is aiming to take things up a notch by providing even more downforce than what the current 911 GT3 RS offers. According to the automaker, the current model delivers 1,895 lbs at 177 mph, but they're determined to surpass that with their latest creation. Achieving a power-to-weight ratio of about 1 horsepower per 2.2 pounds, or 1 PS per kilogram, is another target. The battery and powertrain setup of this vehicle remain a mystery, leaving us to wonder how many motors it may have.
However, Porsche just revealed a juicy tidbit of information that's sure to get electric car enthusiasts excited: their new 900-volt electrical architecture will enable the upcoming model to charge at twice the speed of the current Porsche Taycan. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
