The All-New 232-Horsepower Radical SR3 XXR Race Car
by AutoExpert | 23 December, 2022
Radical has released the SR3 XXR, the newest iteration of its SR3 range of racecars, with a revised engine, updated bodywork, and improved chassis.
The new SR3 XXR from Radical includes updated LED graphics for the headlights and taillights, a center fin at the back that takes design cues from LMP racecars, updated endplates for the rear wing, and a carbon fiber splitter and diffuser that may be ordered as extras.
Both a two- and a one-seater layout are available, with a carbon fiber dashboard as an option. As the interior is completely open, the dashboard's touchpad was designed to be impervious to water. The SR3 XXR is equipped with brand-new lightweight cast-aluminum center-lock wheels that are 14 inches in diameter up front and 15 inches in the back and can be fitted with either slick or wet tires.
New Generation 5 1.5-liter and 1.3-liter four-cylinder dry-sump engines from Radical have improved output and torque ratings in addition to compatibility with biofuels (petrol and E85). Although 232 horsepower may not seem like much, the vehicle's modest weight allows the hand-built, mid-mounted mills to generate more than 350 horsepower per tonne. The new SR3 XXR's price has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
