Tesla Introduces The Lower-Priced, Longer-Range Model Y

Tesla has a new Model Y entry-level trim available now. With a range of 279 miles, according to the EPA, the new Model Y Standard Range uses 4680 battery cells manufactured at its Texas facility.

With the company's recent price cuts across the board, the base Model Y might soon cost less than $53,000.

These dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Model Ys come with a Standard Range and a 4680-battery pack. That's not the case with the current Model 3's basic trim or the prior generation's standard-range RWD Model Y.
