Supercar Enthusiasts Can Save Money On The GAC Aion Hyper SSR Electric

China has stepped up its preparation to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles with the introduction of the GAC Aion Hyper SSR. Priced at 1,286,000 yuan ($176,400), this electric supercar is significantly more affordable than competitors like the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, or Lotus Evija, all priced over $2 million.
The SSR, standing for Super, Sport, and Race, made its debut as the Enpulse Concept in 2020, later transitioning to a production car last September.
It boasts impressive performance claims, including a lightning-fast 1.9-second zero-to-62 mph acceleration time. Interestingly, the GAC Aion Hyper SSR features upward-opening doors reminiscent of McLaren and an active rear spoiler, maintaining a sleek and restrained design.
Notably, the entire body is crafted from lightweight carbon fiber, contributing to its agile performance, although the exact curb weight remains unspecified. Inside, drivers can enjoy heated and ventilated seats, a 14.6-inch tablet touchscreen, and an 8.9-inch digital instrument panel positioned above a rectangular steering wheel.
