Sumo Champions' Parade Vehicle Is A Toyota Century SUV Convertible
by AutoExpert | 16 January, 2024
Toyota quietly showed off a special car called the Century SUV Convertible during a big wrestling event in Japan. The carmaker made this cool convertible because a retired Sumo wrestler asked for it, and it's supposed to be a fancy car for champion parades.
The car lost its roof and pillars, turning into a stylish convertible while keeping the bottom part the same.
This Toyota Century is all dressed up in fancy white with cream inside and cool alloy wheels. They worked hard to make room for two sumo wrestlers inside, making the car strong enough to handle their weight. The back of the car looks like a folded fabric top, giving the sumo wrestlers a good view of people cheering.
Under the hood, they didn't change much, using the same strong engine. Toyota's big boss and important people from wrestling were at the event, and they said this special car celebrates 100 years of wrestling in 2025. It's going to be a special car for the new champions.
The price for this custom built is still unknown. However, the regular Toyota Century SUV is already very expensive, priced at ¥25,000,000 ($172,291). Toyota likes making special cars, so who knows, maybe more cars like this will come in the future!
