Subaru Sport Mobility Concept: A Nod to the Subaru Sport Évolution
by AutoExpert | 26 October, 2023
The Subaru BRZ may not exactly be flying off the dealers' lots, but that hasn't deterred Subaru from pulling the wraps off its latest Sport Mobility Concept at the Japan Mobility Show.
Envisioned as a precursor to the "Subaru Sport Évolution", this electric concept car is a design marvel that juxtaposes geometric accents with soft curves.
While Subaru remained tight-lipped about the specifics, the concept showcases a striking front facade with vertical air curtains, slender headlights, and a prominent intake. The front's allure doesn't stop there; the concept flaunts an elegant greenhouse embellished with blacked-out pillars, creating a seamless aesthetic.
Venturing further, the distinctive fenders and streamlined bodywork catch the eye, accompanied by Lamborghini-inspired carbon fiber composite wheels, which are fine-tuned for aerodynamic efficiency.
Contrary to the busy front, the rear end adopts a minimalist approach, featuring fin-like accents and slender taillights.
While the specs remain shrouded in mystery, Subaru did share that the concept embodies a driver-centric philosophy, with the driver having control over all four wheels. Enhancing the driving experience, the concept proposes a lowered seat position and improved visibility, ensuring tranquility behind the wheel.
From what the gallery unveils, the Concept seems to share some design ethos with the BRZ. But Subaru didn't stop at a ground vehicle; a futuristic passenger drone also made its appearance, equipped with automotive-style lighting units, six enclosed blades, and a car-like greenhouse.
Though details were scant, Subaru emphasized that the evolving electric and automation technologies in aviation are paving the way for a forthcoming air mobility revolution. Subaru’s aerospace and automotive engineers are currently spearheading “flying demonstrations”, marking Subaru's foray into the nexus of automotive and aerial innovation.
