This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera is one of roughly 2,131 pieces and was shipped new to Peyton Lincoln Mercury in California. It was purchased as a slightly final product by the seller from its long-term previous owner about 12 years ago

The successive work done by Don Byars of Full Throttle Panteras of Lake Elsinore, included an overhaul of the interior, brakes, and suspension, as well as the installation of a 393ci Stroker V8 fitted with CHI CNC cylinder heads and coupled with a ZF five-speed transmission.

There's also a FAST XFI electronic fuel injection system, climate control, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and 17" Kinesis wheels. Sparco bucket seats with Schroth harnesses and an iPad Mini positioned on the dashboard, wired to an Audison amplifier and Hertz speakers, round out the car's equipment list.

The automobile was originally finished in Blue, but in 1985 it was repainted in Candy Apple Brandywine by House of Kolor. On the outside, you'll find black-painted side-view mirrors and chrome bumperettes as well as unique center exhaust outlets and Scott Bell projector-style pop-up headlights with daylight.  Above the back license plate, a backup camera has been installed, and two more rear-facing cameras have been installed near the decklid hinges.

255/40 Michelin Pilot Sport tires placed on polished 17" Kinesis multi-piece wheels in the front and 335/35 Michelin Pilot Sport tires in the rear. Red-painted Wilwood four-piston calipers and 13-inch vented rotors at all four corners offer to stop power. There are also stainless steel brake lines, front and rear 1" sway bars, and chassis strengthening bracing.

Before being equipped with black fabric Sparco bucket seats with red accents and Schroth multi-point harnesses, the interior was coated with Dynamat sound deadening material and covered with DeTomaso floor mats to preserve the carpets. Additionally, a hand-stitched Italian leather dash and door panels with carbon fiber embellishments, as well as speaker enclosures, have been added.

In the rear wheels, power is routed through a rebuilt and polished ZF five-speed manual transmission equipped with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and a lighter-than-stock balancer. According to the Deluxe Marti report, the car was built in October 1971, and the research project includes production data as well as factory colors and the initial delivery to Los Angeles.
