Range Figures Of The Tesla Semi Revealed Through Testing

What is the "Run On Less Electric Depot"? The North American Council for Freight Efficiency is in charge of hosting it! It analyzes data from 10 different types of electric freight vehicles operating in the real world to find ways to ease the process of switching to electric power.
They have something about Tesla Semi's driving range too. Tesla kicked off deliveries of their Semi truck last year, and it's surprising that we're still not privy to all the nitty-gritty details about this groundbreaking vehicle.
Initially, Tesla hyped up a 500-mile range and an impressively low energy usage of just two kWh per mile. Recent insights from NACFE suggest that hitting that 500-mile mark on a single charge is very much doable, given the right conditions.
In a recent event named "Run On Less Electric Depot," spanning over 18 days, we got to see these Tesla trucks in action, and they didn't disappoint. The first day showed Truck One covering 416 miles and wrapping up the day with a little over 18 percent battery charge remaining. The second day, it managed 406 miles with a bit over seven percent battery capacity left.
Truck two put up an impressive show too, clocking 376 miles (605 km) on day one and ending the day with just over 15 percent battery life. The second day saw it cover 223 miles (359 km), preserving an impressive 48 percent of its range.
Now, the real star of the show was truck three, hitting a whopping 545 miles on its best day. However, it did need a pit stop for a charge midway after depleting nearly all its battery after 377 miles. The second day for this truck was good as well, maintaining a bit over 18 percent battery after a 410 mile journey.
Of course, we have to consider the real-world factors affecting these numbers; temperature, elevation, traffic, and more all play significant roles. Also, keep in mind that the test involved 10 different teams, each with their own unique routes, freight, and stops, so comparing their performance directly wouldn't be fair. The Tesla Semi is making waves, and as more details unfold, it's exciting to see how it's poised to revolutionize the electric trucking scene.
