Production Of The Toyota GR Corolla Circuit Edition Will Go On At Least Until 2024
by AutoExpert | 24 February, 2023
Toyota GR Corolla is a popular model, and the Circuit Edition trim is especially sought after. Initially intended as a limited edition for the first year of the GR Corolla's production, the Circuit Edition will now continue for at least one more model year, according to an announcement from Toyota.
This decision was based on the overwhelming enthusiasm and excitement for the GR Corolla, particularly the Circuit Edition. However, production of the Circuit Edition will be limited to around 1,500 units for this year, which is significantly less than the approximately 8,000 2023 model-year GR Corollas that Toyota plans to produce overall.
While the company has confirmed that the Circuit Edition will still be available in 2024, they haven't provided any specific details regarding its features or production numbers. The Circuit Edition trim level of the GR Corolla comes with a more aggressive appearance as well as some performance upgrades.
The most noticeable exterior features are a power bulge hood with functional vents, a gloss black rear spoiler, and a carbon fiber roof. The car also features red GR-branded brake calipers located behind the wheels. Inside, the Circuit Edition is loaded with heated red-accented sport seats made from suede and synthetic leather, a heated steering wheel, and a Morizo-signed shift knob.
Toyota GR Corolla Circuit Edition comes equipped with Torsen limited-slip differentials at the front and rear to improve traction. However, in terms of performance, the Circuit Edition shares the same turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine as all other GR Corollas, which produces 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The only available transmission is a six-speed manual, which can accelerate the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds.
