Official Rendering From BMW Teases The Upcoming LMDh Race Vehicle
by AutoExpert | 22 December, 2021
This year, BMW announced its comeback to prototype racing, and finally, we have our first depiction of the LMDh race vehicle. We don't know exactly what the kidney grille is used for in this drawing, as there is no official information accompanying it.
For the time being, it's a mystery, as BMW hasn't revealed anything beyond the sketch. With its massive, elevated fenders and tight central cockpit, the design of the automobile is stunning. With this depiction, BMW makes it clear that the race vehicle is modeled after its new M-division road cars.
The next rendering, however, is completely unexpected. This second illustration isn't a representation of the new LMDh automobile, but it's a nice throwback. Those who are familiar with the BMW V12 LMR will notice that this drawing is based on that stunning race vehicle. It has the traditional race car's kidney grille, circular headlights, and also the same contours.
Even though we can't see the final race vehicle yet, as we talk about today's BMW, we can guess that it will borrow design cues from the official rendering when it debuts in racing competition for the first time in 2023.
