Renault recently unveiled a unique Megane E-Tech based on the classic Renault Clio Williams, and it appears that the company hasn't forgotten its racing heritage. A lot of people believe the Clio Williams to be one of the best hot hatches of all time.
The Clio Williams is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 145 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 129 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. The Clio's suspension system was completely reworked for the Williams, making it one of the most responsive hot hatches.
At a recent JASP gathering in Madrid, Spain, Renault revealed a customized Clio-inspired Megane E-Tech to honor the Clio Williams. There are some gold highlights on the front fascia of the unique Megane E-Tech, which is painted in the same shade of blue. It lacks Clio's gold wheels, yet it still manages to look stylish.
The new Renault Megane E-Tech is based on the same CMF-EV architecture and electric motor as the Nissan Ariya and comes with 129 and 215 horsepower options. According to Renault, the entry-level 40 kWh battery pack has a WLTP range of 186 miles, whereas the greater 60 kWh battery pack has a range of up to 292 miles.
