New Alpina B3 And B4 GT Boost Power To 522 HP, Outpace BMW M3/M4

Alpina has just introduced the B3 and B4 GT, two improved versions of the recently updated 3- and 4-Series sedans. An increase of 34 horsepower over the base B3 and B4 models brings the total power output of the S58 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six (the same engine as the M3/M4) to 522 horsepower.
While the BMWs produce 479 lb-ft of torque, the Alpinas produce 538 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to those additional horsepower, all three all-wheel-drive GTs reach 62 mph, 0.2 seconds faster than their predecessors.
The B3 GT sedan now achieves this in 3.4 seconds, which is a tenth faster than the M3 Competition xDrive, which shares that time with the B4 GT Gran Coupe and B3 GT wagon at 3.5 seconds. Once they reach 124 mph, the new trio may gain a couple of mph at the top end and a second over the previous B vehicles at full throttle.
The B3 GT sedan can hit speeds of 191 mph, while the other two reach speeds of 190 mph. The B3s' chassis includes a larger rear anti-roll bar and improved shocks, while the B4's has new shocks, strengthened front suspension mounts, a retuned steering system, and an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential.
Every updated model now has a splitter and small motorsport-style canards up front, a new gloss black diffuser in the back, and black tailpipes. Moreover, the B4 gets the updated headlights and 3D rear lights from the M4 CSL, and the B3 gets the 20-inch forged wheels that were previously only on the B4.
