BMW has released a set of teaser images for the upcoming i7, indicating an April launch. A new generation of BMW 7-Series models, including the top-of-the-line all-electric luxury sedan, will be presented at the same time.
To begin with, the front bumper is dominated by the lighted grille. The second set of lighting units is located behind the crystal glass LEDs that border the kidney grille. A broad bottom intake and slender side inlets are also seen. "The world's first all-electric luxury sedan," BMW says of the i7.
Inside, we find the BMW Theatre Screen, a mega 31-inch screen for the rear passengers that pulls out of the roofline to create a private movie lounge for on-the-go pleasure. The BMW Theatre Screen isn't just for the i7; the carmaker has announced that it will be available in new top-of-the-range cars.
The BMW Curved Display on the dash, which houses the current edition of the iDrive infotainment system, and the BMW Interaction Bar are two further interior attractions. The i7 will also have a Sky Lounge panoramic glass top. My Modes, a new function that allows drivers to select from a variety of different driving modes, will also be available.
BMW was tight-lipped on the electric drivetrain's specifics, but it did provide estimates for the car's potential range and power usage. According to WLTP, the car will have a range of 580-610 km (360-379 miles) and EPA estimations of up to 305 miles (491 km). The total WLTP power consumption will be around 19.7 and 18.9 kWh/100 kilometers, which is lower than prior development predictions (22.5-19.5 kWh/100 kilometers).
According to current reports, the BMW i7 will have a 120-kWh battery, with the high-performance edition expected to have a tri-motor system generating a total of 740 horsepower (552 kW / 750 PS).
On April 20, the i7 and the 7-Series will make their debut.
