Maserati MC20 Convertible Teased With Cloud-Themed Wrapping
by AutoExpert | 22 December, 2021
Last year, Maserati launched its MC20 coupe flagship. The carmaker has now revealed its first official teaser images of its convertible model. In Modena, a totally camouflaged test car was spotted with a distinctive cloud-motif wrap. On Maserati MC20 convertible we can see a few design tweaks compared to the coupe model. These are concentrated on the A-pillars, roofline, and rear end.
Maserati didn't show us the back, but from the top, we can see the new roof architecture, a fresh panel replacing the rear windscreen, and a new rear deck style. The body is still constructed of carbon fiber and other composite materials, according to the business.
The mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine generating 621 hp (463 kW / 630 PS) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque will almost certainly be retained in the Maserati MC20 convertible. The coupé goes from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and has a peak speed of 202 mph (325 km/h), however owing to the increased weight and modest variations in aerodynamics, the convertible may be somewhat slower.
After the coupé and convertible models, Maserati will expand the MC20 range with the inclusion of a completely electric model, in keeping with the company's electrification goal for the entire portfolio. Maserati MC20 convertible hasn't been given a release date, but based on the teaser, we expect it to come in early 2022.
