Lanzante Chops The McLaren P1 To Construct Five Spiders

Lanzante intends to build several P1 Spiders. The McLaren P1 hypercar was never made available as a roadster. McLaren produced 375 standard P1s, but Lanzante said it will only modify five cars into convertibles.
Lanzante solicited the support of Paul Howse, the designer of the original coupe, to guarantee that the end product resembled a factory vehicle as accurately as possible. It was a difficult task for him and the engineers at Lanzante because the Spider alteration necessitated removing both the glass roof panels and the central snorkel air intake from the roof.
Modifications were made to the body as well, including minor alterations to the fenders, doors, and rear clamshell. The carbon tub provides a lot of strength, but Lanzante also strengthened the lower part of the chassis to make sure it didn't compromise stiffness.
The interior is upgraded with slick carbon-fiber trim and gloss black switchgear, as well as weather/UV-resistant upholstery called SuperFabric. The hybrid powertrain of the McLaren P1 is left untouched. It features a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 and an electric motor that combined create 903 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque.
