Lancer EVO X and the Outlander – Safety Cars at Pikes Peak!

These cars were designed from the start for this mission. The Japanese from Mitsubishi was helped by the specialists from AEM, BBS, Cobb Tuning, DC Sports, Kenwood, and Muellerized Suspension Tuning.
One of the major novelties introduced in the new 7 Series is the monocoque chassis, constructed from a mix of aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber. It will replace the current one, made of high strength steel only. The use of much lighter materials will reduce the total weight of the 740i version well below those 1900 of the current generation. Official sources say that its mass will be reduced to below 1,670 kilograms, like one of the current 5 Series models.
In order to meet the requirements, just like all the real Safety Cars, the two Mitsubishi models received a red and white chassis and some specific light signals on the roof.
And this is not all! As I have said already, these will not be the only models presented by Mitsubishi at Pikes Peak, the three brilliant company representatives have already managed to record in this year's edition a special bolide as well - the i-MiEV Evolution II monster that has four electric motors and develops 536 horsepower.
