Kia's New Tasman Pickup Truck Is Coming Soon
by AutoExpert | 17 August, 2023
Kia's ambitions for the electric truck market are coming together, with the Tasman pickup scheduled to launch in 2024. Kia said in 2022 that it will introduce two electric pickups by 2027, one dedicated model and another geared for emerging markets.
The Tasman will have its international premiere next year, with production set to begin in South Korea in the first half of 2025.
There is limited information available regarding the design of the Tasman. Only a small number of camouflaged test mules have been observed, which appear to have a modified Mohave SUV body. It is still uncertain whether the Tasman will be a pickup version of the Mohave or a completely separate vehicle.
The first trucks are slated to arrive at dealers by the middle of that year. Prototypes are now being tested, and Kia's Australian division is actively involved in the development since the local market is expected to play a big role in the truck's success. By expanding into the electric pickup market, Kia is demonstrating its dedication to sustainable mobility and meeting the needs of a wide range of customers.
