At the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, BMW Motorrad unveiled their new R20 concept. A brand new 2.0-liter Big Boxer engine powers this stripped-down motorbike. Despite BMW's silence on performance numbers, they did reveal that the engine has received a number of upgrades, such as new cylinder head covers, a belt cover, and an oil cooler.
These alterations allow for the largely concealed oil pipelines, contributing to the structure's refined and uncluttered appearance.
The R20 has a "hotter than pink" aluminum gas tank, rear axle carriers made of milled aluminum, an exposed driveshaft, a 3D-printed aluminum ring around an LED headlamp, and a variety of other aluminum decorations, including polished and anodized metal.
Equipped with a high-performance braking system that includes six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers out rear, this vehicle rides on black 17-inch wheels. A sleek seat upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara adds style.
Specifically, the seat has built-in LED taillights that are located under its base. A fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and a completely redeveloped chassis are also some of the features. BMW Motorrad has also "made the paralever strut of aluminum and the swingarm of chrome-molybdenum steel in a new two-arm variant."
“R20 concept sets new standards in the world of motorcycles and confirms BMW Motorrad’s commitment to the finest engineering and the pure passion for motorcycling,” they said.
