Hyundai set to bring a compact truck concept to production.

Looks like Toyota, Nissan, Chevy and GMC small trucks are going to get some more competition.
Hyundai is expected to put into production the pickup mirroring the Santa Cruz that was shown in January at the Detroit Auto Show. We hear that the management of Hyundai is aiming to fast track the vehicle to production even if it means slowing down some other projects.
Seems there was a very good reaction at the auto shows to the concept and it has persuaded them to move it forward faster. Sales of mid range pickups have jumped 52% in the U.S. after Chevy and GMC introduced the Canyon and Colorado trucks. The only hitch in the plan may be that is it a front wheel drive system and those have not fared well in the medium truck market.
