How About Some Global Self-Driving Standards?
by AutoExpert | 30 November, 2020
As the world gets more and more conquered by self-driving cars the automakers are competing to refine autonomous technology.
Whenever some clever invention gains global popularity, the need for a standard regulation is a must-do. The problem arises especially at the World Economic Forum when it was decided that not only an autonomy expert needs to understand the framework that regulates how it works. So, the WEF crafted the Safe Driving Initiative.
The paper points out interesting observation such as:
- A lack of a federal autonomous framework could result, in the US for example could create bad state-by-state regulations, which sell abroad their cars.
- A good pointed national AV policy can help move tech development forward at a rapid clip.
- It’s good to acknowledge that each local government requires flexibility to determine what works regionally.
So, a basic framework empowers the local regulations to be efficiently created.
