Hennessey Launches Special Operations Division With 1,700-HP Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170

Hennessey Performance Engineering is making waves with the launch of its new division, Hennessey Special Operations (HSO). The division's inaugural project is the Demon 1700 Twin Turbo package for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, limited to just 12 units.
Priced at $200,000 (excluding the donor vehicle), this package transforms the already powerful Demon into a beastly machine boasting an astounding 1,700 horsepower. The modification involves pulling the stock 1,025-hp engine and replacing it with a blueprinted motor and transmission.
Instead of the usual supercharger upgrade, the Demon 1700 Twin Turbo adopts two Precision 7576 turbos, running on E85 fuel. The result is a quarter-mile time of 7.9 seconds at 175 mph—a significant improvement over the stock Demon 170's NHRA-certified time of 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph and even surpassing the Rimac Nevera's quarter-mile sprint of 8.25 seconds.
The Demon 1700's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellephant C170 motor undergoes significant enhancements, with details like undisclosed displacement, forged internals, unique alloys, and specialized cooling inspired by motorsports technology.
HSO, as the third arm of Hennessey's enterprise alongside HPE and Hennessey Special Vehicles (makers of the Venom F5), aims to produce 15-20 vehicles annually. To ensure exclusivity, customers must apply for customization, and the hand-picked team of engineers and builders at HSO will craft low-volume, ultra-high-horsepower builds.
John Hennessey's personal Demon will be the first to receive the Demon 1700 Twin Turbo package, with the conversion scheduled in the coming months. Following this, customer builds will commence, and Hennessey hints at potential one-off projects for clients seeking extraordinary, bespoke creations. The application process is now open on the dedicated HSO website, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to join the exclusive league of extreme, high-horsepower automotive creations by Hennessey Special Operations.
