Genesis Launches Magma Sub-brand With GV60 Concept Premiere
by AutoExpert | 27 March, 2024
A new performance sub-brand from Genesis, Magma, is making waves in the industry. Genesis debuted its GV80 Coupe concept in 2023, and they followed it up with the G80 that you can see here later that year.
A small run of the G80 Magma Special is under way, although it will only be sold to clients in the Middle East. Also set to go into production is the brand new GV60 Magma Concept, which made its debut this week.
It will not be confined to a certain location, but Genesis is currently lacking in manufacturing details. A bigger air inlet and a somewhat lower ride height characterize the GV60 Magma Concept's new front fascia. Equipped with integrated aero discs that serve to cool the brakes and enhance efficiency, the idea rides on wheels measuring 21 inches.
The roof fins on top of the GV60 do additional aerodynamic tricks, directing airflow toward the rear wing to increase downforce. Orange contrast stitching and body-color seatbacks add further volcanic touches to the leather upholstery.
"Genesis Magma presents an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of performance and luxury for new interpretations in high-performance vehicles, with the ultimate goal of developing models exclusive to Genesis," Luc Donckerwolke, CEO of Genesis, stated.
"The brand will continue to reveal experimental concepts with careful consideration of both technological and aesthetic elements. While speed and performance are important, the Genesis Magma program will look beyond them, prioritizing the driving experience to kindle the joy of sporty driving with effortless comfort," he added.
Concerning the release date of the GV60, Donckerwolke informed reporters that it would be available very soon. You may see the GV60 Magma Concept, the G80 Magma Special, and the Neolun Concept at the 2024 New York Auto Show, which begins on March 29.
