For $3.5K, Your C8 Corvette Might Get An Active Rear Wing
by AutoExpert | 28 October, 2021
The renowed C8 Corvette has long been linked to active aerodynamics, but no such system has been fitted to the mid-engined sports vehicle as of yet.
Victor Racing comes to the rescue in this situation. It has created an active wing consisting of a 70-inch carbon fiber airfoil controlled by two fast-acting actuators. It's called the ACT-C8 Smart Active Aero Wing, and it works by plugging it into a 12-volt power supply, which activates its onboard sensors and software.
The wing, according to Victor Racing, has GPS, accelerometer, and gyroscopic sensors that allow it to be adjusted into five distinct positions: DRS, Downforce 1, Downforce 2, Downforce 3, and Aerobraking. Customers can also specify the speeds at which the wing should adjust.
The silver actuators on the ACT-C8 Smart Active Aero Wing are more noticeable than on other active rear wings made by top OEMs. Nonetheless, a sophisticated wing-like this may be ideal for C8 Corvette owners trying to get the most out of their car on the track.
It also has a demo option that allows the operator to fine-tune it for use at car shows. Victor Racing will debut the C8 Corvette wing at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas next month and begin distributing units on December 1, 2021. The cost is $3,499, which is quite reasonable.
