Fiat to produce two compact SUVs

One of the vehicles will carry Fiat brand (most probably it will be 500X) and the other will be a Jeep of the US division of Chrysler. "It is not a random strategy. We decided to move from mass production to high-end market," said Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat.
Marchionne's plan implies increasing the production of expensive cars, which will serve as Fiat's loss reduction in Europe. For this year, estimates show that the losses in Europe will amount to about 700 million.
By 2016, Fiat aimed to market 19 models produced in Italy: 6 Maserati and 9 Alfa Romeo. The group also plans to increase the production of Fiat and Chrysler in Europe from 1.25 million units to 2 million units.
