Early Drawings Of The Upcoming Three-Wheeled Morgan
by AutoExpert | 4 December, 2021
In preparation for the unveiling of its all-new 3 Wheeler, classic British sports car maker Morgan has released several drawings that give us a sneak peek at its design.
Morgan's specialty until the late 1930s was three-wheelers, and when the firm resurrected the model in 2011, the reincarnated trike was of huge popularity and allowed the brand to re-enter the market. However, the modern 3 Wheeler, which displayed an exposed S&S V-twin motorcycle engine, was discontinued last year given the lack of compliance with European emissions laws.
Since then, Morgan has been experimenting with a new version driven by a more traditional three-cylinder Ford vehicle engine, similar to the one found in the Fiesta. The new 3 Wheeler from Morgan, however, will be turbo-free. Photos released earlier this year of a camouflaged test car displayed a totally new suspension design and an upgraded appearance, similar to the battery-powered EV3 3 Wheeler concept showcased in 2016.
A series of drawings now reveal some of the principles and elements that the corporation will use in the construction of the new model in extensive detail. Morgan is careful to point out that no sketch can accurately depict the final product, but insists that many of the elements seen in renderings will exist on the 2022 3 Wheeler.
