Great Wall, a Chinese manufacturer, has published photos of their new Tank 600 framed SUV. The new car will be unveiled in its entirety at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 29. The Chinese model will compete with the new Land Cruiser 300 and is scheduled to arrive in CIS countries soon.
A new modular chassis with longitudinal engine placement has been designed particularly for the Tank 600, according to reports. Not only did the manufacturer opt to employ a new architecture, but also a new engine.
Tank 600 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers and a 48V electric system. The powerplant produces 354-hp and 500 Nm and is handled by a nine-speed automated transmission.
The SUV's proportions are similar to those of a Land Cruiser 200 or 300, being around 5 m long, 2 m wide and tall. Outside, a large grille dominates the front, and the overall design is very similar to the Land Cruiser. There are no images of the interior yet, but everyone expects it will employ cutting-edge technology, numerous features, and high-quality materials. More information, including cost, will be released during the formal launch.
