Wilhelm Maybach - Maybach
Around 1900 he built the Mercedes, a racing car with a four-cylinder engine and 35 horsepower, two carburetors, and a gearbox. In 1904 he launches the first six-cylinder engine of 70 horsepower and two years later a 120 hp racing engine.
In 1909 Wilhelm Maybach founded Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH, a German company specialized in the manufacture of luxury cars. One such car, the Maybach Landaulet, costs $1,380,000 and is considered one of the most expensive sedans on the market. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and is one of the most luxurious cars ever created.
