Catalytic Converter Car Crimes Skyrocket in LA Put Down

Due to the pandemic, some crimes were diminished, while others, usually insignificant, skyrocketed because they became more available. The good news is that the LA Sheriff arrested 19 individuals from four different raided locations, and found $750,000 worth of catalytic converters.
Let's just admit that the catalytic converters are valuable, and during a lockdown the parking lots are overloaded, so the thieves are targeting those cars that aren't so secure. Just to convince you that this kind of crime escalated, imagine a 400 percent increase starting March 2020.
In California, the number of replaced catalytic converters reached almost 90% comparing to previous years. You may not believe it, but replacing one is pricy and after four different rides along with its LA county, and results are impressive - 19 people arrested, 250 catalytic recovered, and $100,000 in cash.
This important part of the vehicle's emissions reduction system turns the carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons generated by burning fossil fuels into carbon dioxide and water. And it's an essential part for each car out there.
