When Bugatti introduced for the first time the La Voiture Noir to its fans, many of them were speechless and now the automaker reveals new images and details about the development process.
The La Voiture Noire is actually a celebratory concept to Bugatti’s 110th birthday presented at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, pointing towards the Type 57 SC Atlantic vehicle. Featuring a custom carbon fiber body and W16 firepower and powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged engine, this beauty is a fiery beast with 1,479 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque.
According to Bugatti's latest announcement, the team already invested 65,000 hours – that almost 2,708 hours aka nearly 7 and a half years. In one single project which is already based on a previous Chiron concept. Now we have one question – they counted the hours from a whole team or for each team member?
Still, now we know that an idea takes time to bring to the production line. In La Voiture Noire’s case - it takes a lot of time. Bugatti already is creating this marvelous vehicle for an anonymous customer who already paid €11 million ($13.5 million), no taxes included to add it to his collection. Now compare it with the $3 million Chiron, you might say that any other Bugattis are cheap, right?
