We previously told you about a wealthy Czech driving a Bugatti Chiron who hit 417 km/h (259.1 mph) on the Autobahn. Saxony-Anhalt police are now investigating, and he risks a prison sentence of up to two years if proved guilty.
Radim Passer, the driver, stated that the speed was achieved over a 10-km length of straight road with three lanes in each direction and complete visibility. The German authorities, on the other hand, have now decided to seize the vehicle.
The Federal Ministry of Transport was the first to react, stating that even though a highway has no speed restriction, vehicles are not permitted to drive too fast. Meanwhile, law enforcement feels it is an unlawful vehicle race and has already filed a complaint with prosecutors. Passer risks up to two years in jail if found guilty. What's more, local governments in Germany have renewed discussions about imposing speed restrictions on highways.
