BMW's Vision Neue Klasse Concept Brings The Company Into The Modern Electric Era

With its Vision Neue Klasse Concept, BMW is bringing in a new era, signaling a strong move toward electric cars on a specialized platform. This platform will serve as the foundation for several upcoming BMW EVs, including six new models slated for release between 2025 and 2027.
The Vision Neue Klasse gives us a sneak peek, starting with a compact electric sedan expected to hit production in two years. Some notable design elements include 3D animations displayed in the iconic double kidney grilles, which warmly welcome the driver as they approach the vehicle.
The headlights maintain their double-element design, while a sharknose snout pays tribute to BMW's classic styling. The car boasts a lower beltline and generous glass surfaces, which enhance visibility and overall usability. You'll also find the distinctive Hofmeister Kink and E Ink elements in the side windows.
The wheel arches are filled with sleek 21-inch aerodynamic wheels, and the concept car sports a vibrant Joyous Bright color. The 3D-printed taillights add a fascinating dimension to the vehicle's profile. Inside, BMW adopts an eco-friendly approach by using cord fabric instead of leather. The front seats are designed to maximize interior space and are mounted to the floor using a single bracket.
Interacting with the car revolves around the BMW Panoramic Vision and Central Display, although the traditional iDrive controller has been retired. The Panoramic Vision system projects information across the entire width of the windshield at the perfect eye level for the driver.
BMW's sixth-generation eDrive technology takes center stage, promising a 30 percent increase in range and faster charging. This achievement is attributed to round battery cells with a 20 percent higher energy density.
Production of the first Neue Klasse EV is scheduled to begin in 2025 in Hungary. Plans are in the works for more electric vehicles. This exemplifies BMW's dedication to sustainable production methods and electrification.
