With the launch of the face lift version for the 3 Series model range, BMW will introduce two new positions that will be named 340i! You would have thought the old V8 with a volume of 4000 cc returns but that's not right, that's why!
In fact BMW 340i will be driven by the same 3.0-liter Twin Power Turbo engine, and found under the hood of M3, only the 340i's body it produces only 320 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. If you wondered what this classification is justified, then you can find the answer below.
One reason is the gearbox! The transmission from those from ZF installed on the models in the 3 Series and known by the name of 8HP45 can "handle" smoothly exactly 450nm of torque and all the other expenses involving exceeds this threshold. Therefore, BMW wants us to understand that the 340i version can get maximum performance.
Changing the name would be applied only 3 Series models M135i and M235i so using the same engine services will not be renamed into 120i and 140i.
