The BMW garage DeisgnworksUSA created using cutting edge technology and innovative design for a premium solution that complements the range of BMW i. DesignworksUSA is a division of BMW Group based in California, USA.
The company specializes in brand development projects for BMW Group design and a range of industrial customers.
The garage built specifically for the BMW i3 and BMW i8 models bearing the official name of "solar carport" and is based on its organic materials such as wood, bamboo but also used materials like carbon fiber vanguard.
The ceiling is made up of a series of solar panels that generate electricity for the BMW i Wallbox Pro system. This system allows the monitoring of the electricity used to charge the car and provides an analysis of the charging process. If the sun is hidden by clouds, BMW Solar Carport System allows conventional mains connection.
In addition, if solar energy is generated across the load requirements of the vehicle, it can be directed to domestic use. Solar panels are used in Europe and offer a warranty of 30 years.
