A new high-end tourist bus designed by Pininfarina for China's Asiastar has been revealed as the X9-3. Asiastar's General Manager, Jia Kaiqian, declared the new Asiastar X9-3 bus is aimed at the local and international high-end tourism markets, and that it marks a fresh platform for Asiastar Bus' tourism buses.
To achieve an exquisite and opulent appearance, the bus' design incorporates elements of both Italian and contemporary Chinese styles.
On the other hand, Pininfarina‘s chief creative officer Kevin Rice suggested that Asiastar X9-3 ushers in a new era of high-end tourism buses, where unequalled comfort meets cutting-edge technology, and where design communicates these principles via a contemporary and inventive language, with dynamic external lines and a smart interior.
Shanghai and Italy collaborated to build a pleasant environment that encourages passengers to choose public transportation over their cars. Matteo Piguzzi, director of design at Pininfarina Shanghai, stated: “The interior has a Driver Oriented structure for the best comfort and safety of the driver: it is a modern dynamic wrap around the driver and newly re-interpreted Asiastar design language.” Asiastar X9-3 was revealed as a prototype during Asiastar's business meeting in Yangzhou.
