Recently, authorities in the Philippines destroyed an immaculate Ferrari 360 Spider that had been imported illegally. President Rodrigo Duterte has established a reputation for himself by advertising the destruction of illegally imported cars.
GMA News, a local media outlet, was on the scene and captured a video of the Ferrari getting crushed by a massive construction machine. This Ferrari was meant to be a collection of different pieces rather than a whole automobile, according to Gulf News Asia. “The vehicle was wrongly declared as auto parts, to avoid payment of the right taxes,” stated Rey Leonardo Guerrero, the local customs commissioner.
Duterte ordered the destruction of 68 illegally imported motorcycles and cars in a public demonstration in August of last year. A Lamborghini Gallardo, a slew of Porsche 911s, plenty of BMWs, a Ford Mustang convertible, a Nissan Skyline, and much more were among the vehicles. The worth of these automobiles was believed to be at $5.89 million at the time.
