The production of the McLaren 620R finally reached its end in December 2020 and this was also the official closing of the McLaren Sports Series Lineup, but the good news is that it's still available on the US market.
The McLaren entry-level model range launch started in 2015 and they were able to produce over 8,500 units around the world. Over the years they produced the famous 540C, 570S, 570S Spider, 570GT, 600LT Coupe, 600LT Spider, and the latest 620R that will be replaced by the new Artura plug-in hybrid supercar.
Despite being the last model of the range, this lovely 620R is the most extreme model from this range. Based on the 570S GT4, both models share the aerodynamics and feature a wider track, lower suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, stainless steel exhaust system, and unique center-locking wheels.
Being powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the 640R can output up to 611 horsepower and 620 Newton-meters, and reaches 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds offering a 200mph top speed. This performance makes the vehicle equal to a racer car and an exclusive driving experience.
Almost all the McLaren Sports Series Lineup model units were sold, but there are still some of them left on the market. At least 225 units were built for the global market, and 70 of them were predestined to reach North American customers. Another good news for American customers are is the extra MSO package available with a glossy carbon-fiber roof, a scoop for air intake, and exhaust sound improvements along with other intriguing features.
The limited stock will create great competition for the McLaren customers, because who doesn't want to feel a little bit of a racer?
