60 Years of Jaguar's E-Type Celebrated With Six Pairs Of Restomod Cars

Also known as the XK-E in the U.S. the Jaguar's E-type sixty-years celebration by restomoding six pairs of the previous famous coupes and convertibles which embraced the 21st-century updates. The 12 cars took a lot of work when you think that only handcraft one center console took 100 hours. They're inspired by the cars shown in 1961 in Geneva when Jaguar models were introduced.

Destined initially to replace the XK150, the E-type was presented at a public car show event on March 15, 1961, in Geneva. The first two examples made it to Switzerland being derived by Bob perry and Norman Dewer, and that's the mystery behind Jaguar sells the restomod models only in pairs - a coupe and a convertible.

The re-released cars are beautiful pairs of coupe and convertibles. Along with the latest modern features, the restomod team came up with stunning Flat-out Grey color for the coupes and Drop-Everything Coats for the remained six convertibles. They will be called the 69 Edition models and these colors won't be used on any other models.

The interior keeps the 60's and takes you back in time with the wood-rimmed steering wheel with drilled spokes and a 24-carat gold horn button, which unfortunately isn't the original one, but still looks great. Also, there are analog gauges, an array of switches on the dashboard. The good news is that there are different upholstery leather, such as Smooth Black for the coupes and Suede Green for convertibles. Imagine buying these days a restomod Jaguar with manually roll down for the windows and turning on/off the headlights.

Let's get back to the modern features. Jaguar gives you a modern infotainment system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. The tractive feature is the center console engraving which shows the route from Jaguar's headquarters in Coventry to Geneva, Switzerland.

The resto-modded pair with a 3.8-liter engine has a starting price of $440,300. If you're a collector, these are six pairs of a kind only.
