2024 Mini Cooper EV: A Fusion of Past Charm and Futuristic Interior
by AutoExpert | 21 July, 2023
The Mini Cooper has always been a marriage of classic British charm and modern driving dynamics. With the 2024 Mini Cooper EV, the carmaker has given this timeless icon a significant interior revamp, blending the beloved elements of past Mini models with contemporary technologies.
The newly released images of the Mini Cooper EV’s interior spotlight the innovative central screen as the showstopper. The marque has swapped the traditional single dial, synonymous with Minis, for a large, sleek, circular display that serves as the infotainment hub and the critical data center for the driver. The new screen, approximately half the size of the steering wheel, dons uncomplicated graphics and text, staying true to the Mini's minimalist design philosophy.
Furthermore, the 2024 Cooper EV introduces a head-up display to its list of enhancements, although it opts for the less common pop-up variety instead of projecting directly onto the windshield.
The dashboard wraps itself in a trendy fabric and hosts a tastefully incorporated ambient lighting system. Simplicity remains key with straightforward door panels, an updated steering wheel, and a handful of toggle switches nestled under the central screen, including the gear selector switch.
The exterior design echoes the refined interior, showcasing freshly designed LED headlights and taillights.
As for the powertrain, the new Cooper E is set to feature a 40.7 kWh battery coupled with an electric motor producing 181 hp. Its sportier sibling, the Cooper SE, will flaunt a larger 54.2 kWh battery, teamed with a beefier electric motor outputting 215 hp. Expected range for these models falls between 186 and 249 miles (300-400 km).
