2022 Lexus LX 600 Will Have An Off-Road-Oriented Model For Japan
by AutoExpert | 15 October, 2021
The 2022 Lexus LX 600 is now available in Standard, Premium, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport trims in the United States. The premium automaker has, though, released an off-road-focused model in Japan.
The Offroad variant foregoes the big wheels seen on US-spec automobiles in favor of smaller 18-inch rims. It also has a special pair of tires that improves its capacity to handle difficult terrain. The 2022 Lexus LX 600 Offroad, like the Toyota Land Cruiser GR Sport, has three locking differentials, although the US market versions only have a rear Torsen limited-slip differential.
The 2022 Lexus LX 600 Offroad has also received some minor updates. Black wheel arches, a grayish treatment across the front spindle grille, and smooth charcoal wheels are among the features. The same twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that powers the Lexus LX 600 Offroad in other areas produces 409 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque in Japan.
This boosts the luxury SUV's power and torque by 26 hp and 76 lb-ft (103 Nm) over the prior model's 5.7-liter V8. A 10-speed automatic gearbox is paired with the new motor. There's no news on whether the Offroad will join the LX's lineup in the United States. Lexus has stated that variants announced for the US market will be available in local dealerships in the first quarter of 2022, with costs to be revealed at a future stage.
