2022 Infiniti QX80 Gets Some Cosmetic Changes
by AutoExpert | 20 August, 2021
Infiniti QX80 is growing old, but the luxury SUV will get a much-needed makeover in 2022. While the external appearance looks to be the same, designers have updated the inside with a contemporary center stack and an all-new 12.3-inch infotainment system.
The latter is the main attraction since it changes the previous dual-screen layout and appears considerably more contemporary. Infiniti didn't reveal much about the technology, although it includes InTouch Services and navigation with lane guiding. Wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility is also available, however, Android users need to bring a USB connection.
Aside from the infotainment system, the 2022 QX80 has higher-quality switchgear and an all-new wireless phone charger. The latter is concealed behind a wooden panel, although a wireless charging indication is visible even when the door is shut.
Infiniti didn't reveal much further about the vehicle, but they did mention that heated front seats and second-row captain's chairs are included. Leather upholstery, Intelligent Cruise Control, and a Bose quality audio system are also available to buyers.
The classic 5.6-liter V8 engine delivers 400-hp (298 kW / 406 PS) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. It's mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox and may be ordered with four-wheel drive as an alternative. Costs and release information are yet unknown, but the 2022 Infiniti QX80 is expected to debut in showrooms later this year.
