2016 Detroit: Mercedes Presents S63 AMG Cabriolet "Edition 130"
by AllAutoExperts | 17 January, 2016
The S63 AMG Edition 130 pays homage to Mercedes - 130 years of history and the Germans decided that Detroit would be the best place to reveal their cabriolet.
As the Chairman of Mercedes explains, the S cabriolet was chosen because its design and style resemble the first open vehicles that Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler have built.
There are however some subtle changes that set this Edition 130 version apart. Features such as a gloss silver paint, matte-black 20-inch wheels with high sheen rim flanges, Bordeaux red top, and others are making it a little different. As the name suggests, there will be only 130 units ever built and each will have special badges and engravings to specify this fact.
The interior features exclusive Designo Nappa leather, and carbon/piano AMG trim elements. Buyers will also get custom indoor covers that will have the chassis number of the vehicle on them. Each customer will also receive a special Edition 130 badge key in an aluminum box.
Finally, the power comes from a 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine that produces 577 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque that can push the Cabrio to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds.
The S63 AMG Cabriolet "Edition 130" will have a price of around $246,362 for German markets and is expected to arrive around April 2016.
