Zeekr X Electric Crossover Unveiled
by AutoExpert | 7 February, 2023
Zeekr, a car maker owned by Geely, has unveiled its third model: the X, an electric crossover vehicle. It will be publicly debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show in April and then introduced to European markets. Zeekr plans to aggressively market the X globally, with a goal of doubling its annual sales to over 140,000 units in 2023.
The Zeekr X, also known as the BX1E, is based on Geely's Scalable Electric Architecture (SEA) platform, which is the same platform used for the brand's first two models, the Zeekr 001 and 009 MPV.
To start with, the new Zeekr X is a compact 5-door crossover. It features thin LED driving lights integrated into the hood shut lines and horizontally mounted headlights. The rear of the Zeekr X incorporates distinctive horizontal LED taillights and vertical reflectors at the outer edges of the bumper.
Zeekr has not yet released details about the electric drivetrain of the X. However, it is expected to use single-motor RWD and dual-motor 4WD systems similar to those used by the Smart #1 and Volvo EX30. Zeekr has confirmed that the performance version of the X will have a 0-62 mph acceleration time of under 4.0 seconds. This implies that it will have around the same 428 hp drivetrain as the Smart #1 Brabus.
