Would You Drive A Chevrolet Without a Quirky Center Console?
by AutoExpert | 26 February, 2021
Every automaker wants to bring something new, but this usually means that some old must be ditched to make a place for something new. Chevrolet plans to ditch C8 Corvette’s quirky center console. And this is one of the distinctive elements, which gives a sublime, polarized feature loved by many Chevrolet fans.
There is the possibility that the C8’s interior styling might be going away by the 2023 model and one of the reasons is that Michael Simcoe, the GM’s new head designer isn’t a big fan of the component. The first thing against the C8 Corvette’s console is the sheer quantity of controls incorporated into it, then the design itself.
The switches seem too many and everyone agreed that it’s time for a change. Despite its unique design, and doesn’t seem to bother the driver or the passenger next to him, but any change will be good. The Corvette C8's mid-cycle re-design had originally planned for 2025, but the need to invest more in the electric vehicles program will delay a bit to make the idea real.
Hopefully, the change will be received by customers with open arms and will bring more success to Company.
