Why Not Give The Iconic Toyota GR Yaris A Facelift?

Avante Design took on a challenge by creating a 3D model that envisions a possible facelift for the much-loved GR Yaris, drawing inspiration from Toyota's latest design language. The primary focus of this modification centers around reimagining the lighting elements.
At the front, the GR Yaris receives a hammerhead face treatment, introducing slimmer LED headlights reminiscent of the Toyota Prius. These updated lights highlight the front end that now matches the car's body color.
This transformation necessitated adjustments to the front fenders and the addition of a vented hood, subtly altering the appearance of the rally-inspired supermini. While these renderings are purely speculative, reports from Japan suggest that Toyota plans to refresh the GR Yaris in 2024. In any case, we will see.
Rumors also circulate about the turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine, possibly matching the output of the larger GR Corolla at 300 hp. There could be an additional option of an 8-speed automatic transmission alongside the existing 6-speed manual. Power will continue to be sent to all four wheels through the GR-Four system, developed for the World Rally Championship.
As a reminder, Toyota recently updated the standard five-door Yaris with enhanced tech and a more potent hybrid, although this model is distinct from the extensively reworked three-door-only GR Yaris hot hatch.
