The new Volvo XC90 is an extremely important model for Volvo ranked by the analysts among the 10 most important cars that are to be launched next year, considered also the most important bet the Swedish brand makes with the market from the moment the brand came out from the Ford aegis.
With design lines already foreshadowed by the Coupe Concept, prototype presented in the autumn of 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the new XC90 will have also a preliminary design study which will announce it. It will be called XC Coupe and, as its name suggests, it will be a SUV-coupe that will give us a sufficiently clear idea regarding the final shapes of the second Volvo XC90. The first images and a teaser clip of this prototype were officially published today by the brand from Goteborg.
The big-sized new Swedish SUV will bear the signature of the designer Thomas Ingenlath, freshly recruited by Volvo as its Chief Creative Officer. He drew the muscular back of the XC Coupe concept that preserves the classic lines of the old Volvo SUV, interpreting them in a contemporary style, characteristic for the Northernersâ current range. The interior of the future XC90 will undergo significant changes as well, these being obvious reference to the obvious progress of the solutions chosen by the designers and engineers with a view to carrying forward the basic characteristics of the brand.
Therefore, the "floating" central console of the current Volvo models will be replaced by another one with no buttons, these being replaced by a large touch display. The Volvo XC Coupe Concept will be officially presented at the Auto Show from Detroit in mid-January.
