Volkswagen comes with a new world premiere at the Auto Show in Shanghai. The Germans will present the facelift version of the Scirocco GTS.
Besides the finishing touches to the body and design, Volkswagen decided to increase the number of horsepower of the new Scirocco. The turbo-aspired2.0-liter engine now develops 220 PS (about 220 horsepower), just like its brother Golf VII GTI. The engine is coupled with a 6 gear manual transmission but can optionally offer DSG transmission which accelerates from zero to one hundred in just 6.5 seconds.
At the aesthetic level, the Germans fitted the model with Lugano R18 inch wheels or 19 inches by choice, red clamps, as well as elements from the R-Line package such as bumpers, rear speakers, and rear spoilers on the tailgate and side sills.
Because the first Scirocco GTS, launched in 1982, had black mirror caps, the designers decided to keep the same characteristic for the new model.
Customers have the choice of paint in colors such as Flash Red, Pure White, White Oryx, Urano Grey, Indium Grey, or Deep Black. GTS logos can be seen both on the outside and in the cabin and passengers can enjoy the benefits of a new infotainment system, leather upholstery, panoramic roof, and aluminum inserts with a multi-functional steering wheel.
