For the 2024 model year, Genesis is set to make some noteworthy changes to the G70 lineup in North America. The major shift involves phasing out the old 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine and replacing it with a more potent 2.5-liter engine, aiming to give the entry-level sedan a performance boost.
This new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, initially introduced to South Korean customers, brings an impressive 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque to the table.
Claudia Marquez, the COO of Genesis Motor North America, expressed her excitement, stating, "We're thrilled to bring significant updates to our award-winning G70 lineup, providing more standard power and performance for the 2024 model." The 2.5-liter turbocharged engine will join the existing 3.3-liter turbo V6, which continues to be available for the 2024 model year, delivering 365 hp.
For a more engaging driving experience, the 2024 Genesis G70 will come standard with high-performance Brembo brakes. Inside, it will feature a fresh touch-type climate control display and a frameless rearview mirror. The carmaker is also expanding the color options for the G70 in the upcoming model year, offering Vatna Gray and Kawah Blue for the exterior paint and Obsidian Black/Fog Gray and Obsidian Black/Vanilla Beige for the interior.
The 2024 G70 will also feature Genesis Digital Key 2 with NFC compatibility, allowing drivers to use their smartphones as car keys and share access with others. Moreover, the vehicle is getting upgrades to switches, door and console details, cup holders, and an enhanced badge design. Genesis has promised to share pricing and availability details for the 2024 G70 at a later date.
