Pagani is regularly creating Huayra special editions. The Huayra Codalunga is the most recent variant. The Codalunga was designed by Pagani's Grandi Complicazioni division, which specializes in high-end projects.
In two years, it evolved from a single client's vision into a modest run of vehicles. By using Huayra's proportions as a starting point, the Codalunga has a reworked front fascia and a whole new rear portion.
Under the hood is an upgraded version of the AMG-supplied twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12 that produces 840 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. The automobile is only 2822 pounds in total. Pagani claims that the design of the Codalunga was influenced by Italian race vehicles and coachbuilt vehicles from the 1960s.
"We made the Huayra Codalunga longer and smoother as if it had been caressed and molded by the wind, to design lines that were even more elegant than the coupe," said Horacio Pagani, the company's creator.
Pagani Huayra Codalunga starts at a staggering 7 million euros ($7.4 million). All five instances have already been sold, though.
