The Wild Rubis Concept!
by AllAutoExperts | 10 April, 2013
The new SUV, foreshadowed by the Citroen DS Wild Rubis concept from Shanghai 2013, shall become the fourth member of the DS upper range.
Contrary to the expectations, Citroen DS Wild Rubis turns out to be a not too compact SUV, measuring 4.7 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width, and only 1.59 meters in height, which makes it noticeably shorter but also sportier.
In terms of aesthetics, the DS Wild Rubis concept manages to abstain from any kind of style abuse and shows a harmonious combination between simplicity and robustness. Its profile is dominated by a longer chrome-plated, while the front side features several details borrowed from another Citroen concept, Numero 9, presented one year ago at the Beijing Motor Show as well.
The very generous wheelbase, of 2.9 meters, promises more space for the rear seats and also allows the creation of a dynamic silhouette. Overall, the DS Wild Rubis concept has a commanding enough appearance, but we still have to see how many concept details will lose the mass model.
The DS Wild Ruby concept is powered by a next-generation version of the Hybrid4, which combines a diesel engine located under the front hood and an electric engine placed at the rear. Some technical details as well as images of the interior are to be provided shortly.
A special shade of the new French concept is represented by the textured paint called "Ruby Red", which changes hue according to the intensity of light on it.
