This McLaren is based on the standard 720S GT3 which is famous for competing in racing series around the world. The GTR3X has modification done to the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and would perform 200 hp more than the standard GT3 - a total of 710 hp with an extra 30hp due to the new 'push-to-pass' button.
There are larger turbochargers, manifolds to ensure the extra grunt. Aso, a blueprinted cylinder head, handmade engine, an upgraded cooling system. Now, the system will ensure the car's capability of sustaining lengthy stints on track and not losing any of the performance levels.
The exterior is the same carbon fiber MonoCage II monocoque. The real advantage here, compared to the GT3, is that the GT3X can be ordered with an optional passenger seat due to the revised roll cage and packaging. The various aerodynamic modifications include the fitment of an enlarged rear wing, new dive planes at the front, an extended front splitter, and a revised rear diffuser.
All the modifications were made to make the McLaren 720S GT3X the absolute star in the race arena.
